GISWiki is a free portal for Geoinformatik (GIS) to which everybody can contribute their knowledge. Everybody can work on the pages and good authors are always welcome -- the first steps are very simple!
All contents are subject to the GNU licence for a free documentation. Further information about the GISWiki is found in our project portal

Timeline

• 19. February 2003 - The first Start of GISWiki. GISWiki made use of JSPWiki.

• 3. March 2003 - The first domain was named "webgis.dyndns.org"

• 10.11.2003 - First use of the domain giswiki.org

• 1. Juni 2005 - GISWiki had been changed over from JSPWiki to Mediawiki (Vers. 1.44).

• 22. September 2005 - The Blog has been added.

• 9. December 2005 - Upgradeing to MediaWiki 1.53

• 12. September 2006 - Upgradeing to MediaWiki 1.71

• 12. September 2006 - The english GISWiki and german GISWiki got seperated. Each Wiki runs on his own Database.
